The White Hart, a pub at New Haw Lock, is a client site. Then come four more live sites, each with what runs behind it, and four demo builds that work like the real thing.

A canalside pub with more than 200 years of history.
It gives regulars and people passing by one place to check the menus, what’s on and how to get in touch. The food menu, cocktails, events, weekly offers, the garden and the pub’s history each have their own page, and there’s a gallery.

Real sites with real visitors, all built and hosted by me. Under each one is what goes on behind the scenes, the part visitors never see.
Anna’s Thai Fusion

A Thai takeaway in Farnborough with its own ordering system, so there’s no delivery app taking a cut. The site is live, and online ordering opens once card payments are connected.
- The owners change the menu, prices, photos and allergens themselves
- A kitchen tablet rings when an order comes in
- Phone orders go on the same screen as website orders
- The driver gets the quickest route and turn by turn directions
- Customers can follow their order to the door
BoomFM

An internet radio station with live DJ shows, a studio camera and a busy listener page.
- Now playing, just played and what’s on next update by themselves
- Listeners send reactions, shout-outs and songs to play
- DJs, shows, jingles and news are all run from one admin page
- Facebook and Instagram posts go out when each show starts
- A Discord bot plays the station in voice chat
Red Robins

A Charlton Athletic fan site where supporters sign up, post, share photos and talk through every match.

- News from around the web, grouped so each story shows once
- Live matchday chat with the score and a man of the match vote
- A prediction league with a leaderboard
- Members get profiles, private messages and phone notifications
- Moderators approve photos, deal with reports and answer a helpdesk
Deckchair FM

Easy listening radio from Tenerife, on air all day and all night, with its own radio station behind the website.
- The music keeps playing as you move between pages
- Now playing and the schedule come straight from the station
- The schedule shows in the listener’s own time zone
- Presenters go on air from a studio in their web browser
- Every song is set to the same volume as it’s uploaded
- Jingles and time checks play between songs by themselves
Four demo builds
These are working sites for made-up businesses, built to show what I can do for a restaurant, a B&B, a builder and a football club. Click through and use them as a customer would.
Osteria Fiamma

An Italian restaurant that wants to take bookings online and change its own menu.
Guests book a table against live availability and get a booking reference on the spot. Staff confirm bookings, read enquiries and edit the menu from their own console. The menus, gallery and map are all there too.
Willowbank House

A riverside bed and breakfast that takes bookings on its own site.
Guests search by date, see each room priced for their stay and get a booking reference straight away. The owners confirm bookings and block out dates from a colour-coded room calendar. The rooms, breakfast and a local guide each have a page.

A family building firm that wants every quote request in one place.
Past projects are shown with their budgets and timescales. A quote request lands in an office console, where it moves from new to survey to quoted to won. The firm edits its own projects, reviews and details.
Netherford Athletic

A fictional non-league football club, built to show what I’d make for a real one.
Fixtures and results, the squad, club news and how to find the ground, in the club’s own crest and colours. It went from three design directions to the finished site, the same process a real club would get.
