Towpath Studio is a one-person web design and hosting studio based in Surrey. Every site is made to fit the place it represents - from the first conversation to the live URL. No agency layers, no resellers.
The name comes from the towpath - the steady route alongside the canal that keeps moving forward, unhurried and direct. That is the approach here.

A conversation about the place, the customers, and what the site needs to achieve. Nothing gets designed until that is clear.
Draw it
Layout, typography and colour chosen to fit the brief - not copied from a theme. You see and approve before a line of code is written.
Ship it
Clean, fast code delivered to your domain. Hosted on servers I manage personally, with SSL, backups and updates included.
The three things every site must be
Crafted
Nothing is a default. Spacing, type and colour are decided on purpose - the way the work underneath is. Clients get something made for them.
Bold
Big, confident type and plenty of room to breathe. A quiet site is a forgettable one. The work should hold your attention before you read a word.
Alive
Motion is used where it means something. A hover, a transition, a response. The page proves its quality rather than describing it.
