Web design, hosting and care.

I design and build each site, host it on UK servers I run myself and set it up so Google can read it. On Business and Bespoke I also set up your Google Business Profile, and Hosting + Care adds monthly content edits. Whichever part you need, you deal with me.

I design each site from scratch around what your business does and who you want to reach, then build it to work properly on a phone.

Menus, galleries, enquiry forms and bookings go in where you need them. On Business and Bespoke you don’t have to write the words yourself: tell me about the business, I’ll draft them, and you have the final say before anything goes live.

Business covers up to five pages, and Fig. 1 below shows how five pages might be planned for a pub. Bespoke is for shops, bookings and custom features, with as many pages as the site needs.

Hosting on UK servers I run myself

Hosting
£200 a year, from the day the site goes live

I set up the servers your site runs on and I look after them, so when you email for help it comes to me, and I already know how your site is put together.

The security certificate, updates and daily backups are handled for you. The servers are monitored, so if something goes wrong I know about it.

Hosting with me is recommended, not required, and I can build a site for you to host elsewhere. Either way you own the site, and the domain is registered in your name. If you ever move to another host, I’ll hand over the files and help you move.

Getting found on Google

I build every site so Google can read it properly.

On Business and above I also set up your Google Business Profile, with your opening hours, photos and contact details, so you can appear on Google Maps when people nearby search for what you do.

Nobody can honestly promise you a ranking, so I don’t. What you do after launch counts too, such as asking customers for reviews. I’ve written plain guides to getting more Google reviews and getting into the map results in the Journal.

Every site

  • Page titles and descriptions
  • Headings in a proper order
  • A sitemap for Google
  • Fast pages on a phone

Business and up

  • Google Business Profile set-up
  • Your hours, photos and details

Care once it’s live

Hosting
£200 a year
Hosting + Care
£350 a year

Sites need the odd change: new opening hours, a fresh photo, next month’s events. Hosting + Care covers small changes like these every month, along with priority support and a yearly health check.

On Hosting, small one-off changes are a modest fixed fee. Bigger jobs, such as a new section or online booking, get a fixed quote first, the same as the original build.

Care suits a business whose menu, prices or opening hours change often. If your site rarely changes, Hosting on its own is enough.

Hosting

  • UK hosting and HTTPS
  • Daily backups
  • 99.9% uptime, monitored
  • Email support
  • Small changes at a fixed fee

Hosting + Care

  • Everything in Hosting
  • Monthly content edits
  • Priority support
  • A yearly health check

How a project runs

Most sites are live within three weeks of the go-ahead. You pay half to book the work in and the rest when the site goes live.

  1. A chat

Ring or email and tell me about the business and what the site needs to do.

  2. The plan and the price

I write down the pages, what goes on each one and a fixed price. Nothing starts until you’re happy with it, and a 50% deposit books the work in.

  3. Build and preview

I share a preview as the site takes shape, and you ask for changes before anything goes public. It takes an hour or two of your time in all.

  4. Go live

I set up your domain and put the site live. You pay the balance on the day, and your hosting year starts from then.

Typical time from go-ahead to going live. Bespoke timings are set in the quote.

Tell me what the site needs to do and I’ll quote for it.

If you’re not sure which package fits, describe the business and I’ll suggest one, with a fixed price. I usually come back within a day or two.
