A conservation area house whose front elevation had been repointed twice in hard cement mortar, trapping damp in the brick. We raked it out by hand and repointed in a lime mortar matched to the original, which is slow, careful work that will outlast everyone reading this.

All eight sashes were overhauled rather than replaced: new cords and beads, draught seals, and two new bottom rails spliced in Danny's workshop. The roof was stripped and relaid with the sound slates saved and matched.

Scaffold was up for six of the seven weeks. The neighbours got our mobile number on day one, which is standard practice and cheaper than flowers.
