Weavers start with a win at Eastwick

Eastwick Rangers 1, Netherford Athletic 2. An opening day that followed the usual script: an hour of not much, then a finish worth the trip.

Eastwick took the lead just before half time from a corner Whitmore will want back. Terry Bracewell sent the side out early for the second half, and it told. Jordan Reeve levelled on 68, turning in Kovac's cross at the near post, then won it five minutes from time, rolling his marker and finding the far corner.

84 made the trip and were louder than the home end by full time. Harwick Town at the Lane next Saturday: same again, please.

Season tickets for 2026/27 are on sale

£120 for adults and £60 for concessions, covering all twenty league matches at Millbrook Lane. Under-12s are free with a paying adult, season ticket or not, because that is how you grow a football club.

Pick one up from the clubhouse bar on any matchday, or from the trust's table at the Netherford Saturday market. Cash or card.

Junior Weavers trials return in August

Boys' and girls' sides from under-9s to under-15s train on the pitch behind the Mill Side stand. Trials run on the first two Sundays of August, 10am, and there is no fee: bring boots, shin pads and a parent.

Half our current first team came through the juniors, including both of Saturday's goalscorers if you count Reeve's two spells. No need to book, just turn up.
